Evans & Tate sweeps the Qantas Wine Show of Western Australia

Evans & Tate - Qantas Wine Show Awards 2013
Evans & Tate have had another amazing set of results at the recent Qantas Wine Show of Western Australia, sweeping the competition and taking home seven of the most prestigious trophies on offer.

Among these awards, we received the trophy for Most Successful Exhibitor and the Highest Aggregate for a Winery, cementing Evans & Tate’s position at the very pinnacle of Margaret River and Australian winemaking.

Excitement is building around the 2011 Evans & Tate Redbrook Shiraz, which is not due for release until April of 2014 but is already garnering incredible reviews, taking home the trophies for Best Wine of Show, Best Red Wine and Best Shiraz.

The 2010 Redbrook Chardonnay, which is available at our online Cellar Door now, also won best White Wine and Best Chardonnay.

Senior Evans & Tate winemaker Matt Byrne has been in charge of the stylistic direction of the winery since 2001. He says that results like this are a welcome recognition that the decisions made in the winery and vineyard are the right ones, while they also draw attention to the top end Flagship wines that not all people may have tasted before.

“Everyone is familiar with our brand and the Classic range- incredibly, they are the most popular wines coming out of Margaret River. But results like this are great to remind people that there is a whole range of Evans & Tate wines, going from everyday, popular wines, all the way up to our Redbrook range, which have just been judged the best reds and whites in the whole state.”

He says that the results yet again confirm the status of the quality of wines being made at Evans & Tate.

“The Redbrook range has been highly awarded and rated for many years, and the consistency in which we do this confirms that it is not a ‘one-off’. When people get the chance to taste our Redbrook wines and then look at the Qantas Wine Show where we  took home all the major trophies  on offer- it’s a very serious statement that we are making  wines of benchmark quality and style.”

From the whole Evans & Tate team, we would like to congratulate Matt Byrne and the rest of the winemakers for the incredible results!
