It’s almost International Sauvignon Blanc Day! Held on the first Friday of every May, this is the day where we gather around and….well, drink Sauvignon Blanc. It is one of the most popular wine for Australians yet somehow we keep finding ourselves drinking Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. We get it. The intense tropical flavours, great aromatics… the Kiwis got something good going.

However, if you are after something new – a bit of zing with your tropical, a more refreshing zesty alternative, we may just have something for you. 

Australia makes some incredible Sauvignon Blanc from regions such as Adelaide Hills, Orange and Margaret River. Their flavours range from crisp grassy herbaceous to tropical fruit. Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc is described by our senior winemaker Matthew Byrne as, “All the tropical flavours you’d expect with a refreshing zesty finish.” 

So back an Aussie and try our 2016 vintage Sauvignon Blancs. The 2016 Margaret River vintage was another distinct vintage where the dry Spring and Summer meant it was tracking early but a tropical rain event towards the end of January saw harvest dates being pushed back slightly. The winemakers were worried that this would result in berry split and subsequent high risk of disease. However with hard work of our vineyard managers and the following warm and dry conditions meant that there were no issues. The Sauvignon Blanc was a stand out with great aromatics and flavour.
